Vancouver

I’m not trying to sound cheesy, and this isn’t me trying to gain “brownie points” with the fiancé, but my favorite part about my first adventure to Vancouver was getting to spend time with Kaitlyn’s family and friends.

She has surrounded herself with a SOLID group of people. Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and genuinely nice. I think everyone can relate when I say it’s always nerve-wracking when you meet your new girlfriend’s/boyfriend’s friends & family for the first time. Now times that by 1,567,444 and show up to meet your FIANCE’S friends & family for the first time. And when I mean fiancé, I mean the person you got engaged to on a reality tv show after 2 months! I was nervous that these people may have had their opinions/views of me which were based off of an edited, and crazy drama-filled TV show. I wanted to make a good impression, and wanted them to see why their best friend said yes to a proposal from a guy on “The Bachelorette”. They couldn’t have been more supportive for the two of us. I felt completely comfortable around them, and I instantly got the vibe that they were willing to do anything for us, and I felt the same about them. It’s important to have a good group of people in your corner coming out of this crazy, crazy experience. Combining our families and friends, I feel like we have exactly what we need.

Apart from meeting all these wonderful people, here are a few stand out experiences from my adventure in “Van City!”

I love how there is so much to do in Vancouver. You’ve got the water, the mountains, the beaches, loads of restaurants, and awesome gyms.

Apparently a trip to Vancouver, wouldn’t have been a trip to Vancouver without making it to the ‘The Roxy’, but in my opinion, they could use a little more honky-tonk!

I don’t think it’s a secret that I’ve been missing my Tucker Doodle Dog while being away from home, but luckily Vancouver is filled with playful pups, so I momentarily got my fix.

If you follow us on snapchat, you’ll know that I got to experience going out in Yaletown in our matching leathers. Never thought matching with my fiance would be so much fun.

It was great to wrap up my first time in B.C. at the West Coast Fishing Lodge in the Haida Gwaii. Kaitlyn and I had no cell reception, so it gave us a chance to turn off and reconnect. We got into the wild…and got wild!

Thank you beautiful British Columbia for an amazing trip.
